Culture & Heritage Supervisor
One (1) Permanent Full Time Position
The City of Fort Saskatchewan is seeking a confident and personable professional to join our Culture and Recreation Team. Reporting to the Director of Culture and Recreation Services, the Culture & Heritage Supervisor is accountable for the planning and execution of cultural programs specific to the administration of the Fort Heritage Precinct. This position will support heritage in the community; develop and support heritage and cultural programs; support community and volunteer development, as well as, special events at the Precinct.
This position will lead Truth & Reconciliation initiatives for the City and is responsible for the safe operation of the Precinct. The Culture & Heritage Supervisor will support the marketing of Fort Saskatchewan as a tourism destination and oversee Precinct marketing. The incumbent will ensure there is timely and appropriate liaison with the community cultural groups, organizations, societies, and volunteers. This position is responsible for community cultural programming; will manage special projects; and assist the Culture & Recreation Director with a mid to long term development plan.
This position requires a minimum of a Diploma, preferably a Degree, in History, Museum Studies, Public Administration, Indigenous Relations, Cultural Management, Communications or Arts. A minimum of five years of experience in cultural, heritage and community development is required. This person will have a minimum of three years of supervisory experience with a demonstrated ability to motivate, mentor and coach staff. The Culture and Heritage Supervisor will be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel, and have strong organization, time management and verbal and written communication skills.
The City of Fort Saskatchewan offers a competitive compensation package with a salary range of $86,775 to $102,063 per annum.
